The Village of West Union is seeking candidates to fill the positions on its newly created Planning Commission. Duties of the Commission include: Initiate advisable changes or amendments to the text or map of the Village’s Zoning Ordinance that will promote the best interest of the public in general through recommendations to the Village Council; Review all proposed changes or amendments to the text or map of Zoning Ordinance, and make appropriate recommendations to the Village Council; Conduct an annual review of the fee schedules contained in the Zoning Ordinance, and make appropriate recommendations to the Village Council; and carry on a continuous review of the effectiveness and appropriateness of the Zoning Ordinance and recommend any and all appropriate amendments or changes to improve the effectiveness and to maintain the currency and appropriateness of said ordinance to the Village Council. Compensation for attending meetings shall be $25.00 per meeting, all Village elected officials and Village Employees are excluded from this compensation.
